A few tidbits:
-She started calling us "Mommy" and "Daddy" instead of "Mama" and "Dada." It just happened out of the blue one day and it was a shock! It seems so grown up and at first we were sad to be to that stage already, but it's really so so so cute that we couldn't mind for long. My favorite sound in the world is her saying "Mommy" in her sweet little voice.
-She sings the ABCs. She has the melody down perfectly and she can sing through the letter G correctly. The rest of it consists pretty much of Os and Is and Ps, but she loves saying, "next time won't you sing with me." Nobody taught her the song, and I've really only sung it a couple of times, but apparently it stuck with her because last week she just started singing it and I was a little in shock. It's absolutely adorable.
-She loves cleaning up. I hope this one sticks.
-She is having so much fun with Advent and the approach of Christmas. She is obsessed with her Play Mobile nativity set and especially the Baby Jesus. She loves putting him down for naps all over the house and because of this, he goes missing at least once a day. When I ask where he is, she replies excitedly, "Oh No! Baby JeJe Go???" Mommy can almost always find him, but at the moment, he's truly missing... St. Anthony, please help us find Baby Jesus before his big day...
-She also LOVES our Christmas lights. In the morning, she will run out into the dark living room all on her own and proclaim, "Tree lights on!!"
-She has learned all of her colors and no longer says that every color is "blue."
-She still loves ballet and just continues to get better and better. She walks around on her tip toes and does all kinds of fancy moves, including holding her leg up really high all on her own. If there is no music on, she hums to herself while she dances.
-She is in love with her baby sister. She tells me all the time how she wants to hold the baby and kiss the baby and rock the baby, and sometimes she gets quite upset that she can't do those things right now. She sometimes puts toys and stuffed animals in her shirt and proclaims that she has a baby in her tummy. She's going to be a wonderful big sister.
-She is very excitable and when she gets really excited about something, like Grandma stopping by or Daddy coming home from work, she about wiggles herself into pieces and squeals with delight and anticipation.
-She is basically potty trained. All of our hard work with EC over the last 20 months has really paid off. She goes days (and nights) at a time with no "misses" at all! We still have a little while until she can wear big girl undies out and about, but I am so thrilled and proud of her, and super excited to think that we may only have the baby in diapers come April!
-When she gets in the right moods, she will give out non-stop kisses. And they are the sweetest, most wonderful kisses you've ever received. She closes her eyes and leans in close and really puckers her little lips. It's so sweet. Sometimes she will just put her arms around my neck and kiss me over and over and over.
-She's just such a joy! Sure, there are hard, frustrating and completely exhausting moments with her. She has a bit of an attitude and she's as stubborn as her dad (okay, and me), but overall, she's just so fun to be around. I'm trying to soak up absolutely every moment that I have left with just her.
Only three months left before Baby Girl arrives! How did that happen??
