"Home is where one starts from." T.S. Eliot
And it is the greatest place to return to.
There is a comfort and beauty about home that simply cannot be duplicated, and our two weeks in Oregon were exquisitely comforting and relaxing. It was such a gift to spend so much down-time with Mom and Dad in the tranquility of the winter countryside.
The frosty chill made the house even warmer and more appealing, and with a wood-burning fire every day, we felt as though we were tucked away in a private mountain retreat.
We did very, very little outside of home. The food was delicious, the wine was top-notch, the atmosphere was cozy and the company was perfect. We had lovely conversations, played many games of Scrabble, read whenever we wanted to, and enjoyed the company of Mom, Dad and the always-entertaining pets.
We also watched a little bit of football to see if the Niners would make it to the Super Bowl. Next year.

We miss it already. But it will always be one of our favorite places to return to.
