The [Who's Got It Better Than Us?] Adventure

At the end of our time in Tahoe, we had the very rare opportunity to go to an NFL playoff game, and the even rarer opportunity to go to one of the most exciting NFL playoff games of all time (of course, we didn't know that part yet).  The Roodhouses have always had San Francisco 49ers season tickets, so in celebration of the team's great year and the fact that all of us would be in the same vicinity, Mom and Dad picked up a few extra tickets so that we could all experience the excitement together (Well, sort of.  Alex and Paige stayed home with poor, sick kiddos that day, so they joined us through the television...).

Ben happens to have a pretty impressive new truck, so we planned a classy tailgate and got to the lot early to stake out a good spot and enjoy the pre-game festivities, including getting pretty pumped up by Bailey's hit written for the team and fans, "Who's Got It Better?"  It's a very catchy and effective song, and we had fun going around the parking lot singing it with random other fans.  Team spirit.

The classy tailgate included: perfect weather, super comfy chairs to sit in, fresh coffee with Bailey's (Ben plugged in his Keurig to a generator) and homemade carnitas by Tony (his specialty).  It was very luxurious.

The game ended up being fantastic.  The teams were playing pretty equally, though the Niners were dominating more on defense, and a few turnovers in their favor were exhilarating.  The score was close enough the whole game to keep you on your toes and keep it interesting.

But it was the last four minutes that made it absolutely thrilling.  We won't recap it play by play here, but it was a nail-biting, edge-of-your-seat, jump-up-and-down-because-you-are-so-excited, possibly-say-some-bad-words-because-you-are-so-frustrated, hug-people-you-have-never-met-because-you-are-so-excited-again and scream-so-loudly-you-lose-your-voice type of ending...and WE WON!  It was incredible, and we should probably never watch another game in our lives because it won't be better than that one.

Hey, I've got a question...WHO'S GOT IT BETTER THAN US?  NOBODY! [Until the next playoff game when the Giants beat us but shouldn't have...Next year.]
